Run for Orange Babies

We waren dan niet zo snel als de winnaars John Mwangangi (45.26) en Hilda Kibet (51.30), maar ook wij voelen ons winnaars na het halen van de eindstreep in Zaandam na de Dam tot Damloop gisteren. Onze run voor Orange Babies was een succes, in sportief opzicht, maar ook in financieel opzicht. Volgende week kunnen we het eindbedrag bekendmaken op deze blog. We bedanken alle sponsoren voor hun steun aan Orange Babies, alle lieve vrienden voor hun morele support èn natuurlijk onze trainers Bing en Jos van Run4Fun voor de geweldige voorbereiding.

Adrian Kuipers

Een mooi artikel afgelopen zaterdag in de Stentor afgelopen zaterdag over onze 'eigen' fotograaf Adrian Kuipers. Zijn bevindingen naar aanleiding van de trip naar de projecten van Orange Babies in Namibië en een deel van zijn prachtige foto's. Wij zijn trots op je, Adrian!

Lopen voor Orange Babies

Een aantal collega's van House of Orange èn aanverwanten lopen op 19 september aanstaande de Dam tot Dam Loop, 10 Engelse Mijl (ruim 16 kilometer!) van Amsterdam naar Zaandam. Wij lopen om geld in te zamelen voor één van de projecten van Orange Babies in Afrika en zijn dus op zoek naar sponsoren. Door ons te supporten met een bijdrage, helpen we met elkaar zwangere vrouwen met HIV en hun kinderen.

Je hoeft alleen bijgaand sponsorformulier aan te klikken, uit te printen, in te vullen en per mail (info@houseoforange.nl), fax (020 - 622 43 02) of post (House of Orange, Herengracht 39, 1015 BB Amsterdam) te retourneren. Dit formulier is een éénmalige machtiging.

Lunatheque

We are so proud of the inspiring ambition of our photographer Annemarieke van Drimmelen and stylist Annelie Bruijn. Together with art director Barnaby Irish they created a whole new fanzine called Circular. The first issue called Lunatheque was launched in Paris this week, and for sale at Ofr Bookshop in the city of fashion.

Lunatheque has an arts and craft feeling to it, is partly hand made and hand stamped. At this point there's only 250 numbered copies available. We're already looking forward to the next issue(s)!

Retrospective: Hope!

Back in The Netherlands my head spins with all experiences of our week in Namibia, all stories, all emotions, all songs and dancing, all sorrow, all joy, all problems, all solutions, all these beautiful children and the fantastic people we met. I feel the urge to end this story with a conclusion, which is a difficult task. But going through all pictures, this one stood out for me. Telling me about love, about care, about trust, about hope. And that is what Orange Babies is all about for me, especially now I've seen the projects in Namibia. A lot of work still has to be done, some projects need more attention, or different attention than others. But everywhere we went there was love, care, trust and above all: HOPE!
